Over the summer, we made a car camping trip out to Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, California, which happens to be one of the film locations for Iron Man. So, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to put together a couple of looks inspired by the iconic film. Here is our Tony Stark and Iron Man Costume and Disneybound!

In Iron Man 1 (2008), Stark demonstrates his new Jericho Missile in a mountainous range portrayed to have taken place in Afghanistan. Little did we know that the scene was filmed in one of Hollywood’s favorite filming locations, Alabama Hills.
Recreating Tony Stark’s look in this scene was pretty easy, as Greg already owns a dark colored suit/blazer. We added a pair of statement tinted sunglasses for some extra personality to this Tony Stark costume.
Iron Man has always been Greg’s favorite Avenger. We admire Tony Stark’s ingenuity and character development throughout the Iron Man and Avengers series. And if you’ve met Greg, you know he is obsessed with robots and robot suits! My favorite part of the film is the moment when Tony is adding the finishing details in his workshop and changes the suits color to “hot rod red.” 😎
My favorite part of this Iron Man costume (or Iron Woman costume!) is the large gold pendant necklace. I was surprised as to how well it worked as the “heart” for my Disneybound.
For my version of Iron Man, I wore a fun and flirty red dress as the base of my “Mark I” suit interpretation. I accessorized the superhero look with gold and yellow sunglasses, bracelets and shoes.
As if we needed more proof that Tony Stark has a heart, I just realized that my dangle earrings each have 3 hearts on them. “I love you 3000?!” So dorky, I know!
