We love this series because it’s such a fun revival of the original cartoons. Mickey and Minnie’s outfits are a modernized take on their original designs from the 1920s, and this Minnie Mouse Adults Costume embodies that retro-chic influence.
Before the big red bow, Minnie was given a bowler hat with a flower coming out of it. I channeled her look with a vintage-inspired felt pillbox hat and fun daisy sunglasses.
Also, until around the 1950’s, Mickey and Minnie were drawn wearing only bottoms, which is another detail that was brought back into the Mickey shorts cartoon. Her two-tone outfit gets a sassy spin with this adults Minnie Mouse Costume. Polka dots are a must!
We made this look our own by adding a couple of our favorite accessories and giving them a touch of magic. This miniature Mickey lollipop is actually a brooch! 😍
Greg’s socks and my watch were released to commemorate Mickey’s 90th birthday. Perfect example of incorporating the iconic duo in your #Disneystyle or Mickey Disneybound.
Of course we had to finish our Disneybound with some classic yellow shoes. This, to me, ties together the entire look of a Disney character! These retro yellow pumps look like they’ve come straight out of Minnie’s closet.
Greg and I remembered we had picked up this adorable dress of Minnie Mouse dog harness during a trip to Disneyland. It made the perfect matching Dog Mom photo op!
As you can see, this isn’t your typical single-layered Minnie and Mickey Mouse costume for adults that you can find in the costume store. I enjoy this approach because it adds more dimension and allows you to incorporate your own style.
